First Reflections

2 Questions to think about for Chapters 1-3:

1) The story is mainly told from Buck's point of view. How does this influence how you feel about Buck? How would the story change if it was told from the dog trainer's point of view?

2)What trait insures that Buck will survive in the Northland? How would this trait be accepted in the Southland, at Judge Miller's farm?

  1. 1) Because the story is told by Buck's point of view it shows more emotion of how Buck feels. It makes you feel more connected to him in a way because its told by him and you can compare yourself better. If the story was told by the dog trainer's point of view then it would be more difficult to see how Buck really feels because the trainer does not know.

    2) The trait that ensures Buck's survival in the Northland is his ability to learn so quickly and so easily adapt to the environment and situations. This trait would still be useful in the Southland but it would be harder to bring it since Buck was treated like royalty back and home and he was not really punished. Without the discipline he got from the Northland, Buck would have never showed this trait.

  2. 1)I'd feel like maybe it would make buck look like a bad dog beacuse the other dogs would probably would be complaining about him and stuff

2)He learning new techniques and learning how to survive in the wild.

  3. it would make buck like a lazy dog because where he came from he didnt do anything for himself, other people did it for him. if the story was told by the trainers point of view it would have been more dramatic because he would have said things like
-buck was so tired of wlking his feet were slowen because he was not used to running so much! i dnt like that version i like bucks version better

  4. Christian Gomes I feel bad that buck is a dog that is not afraid of anything and he does not like to fight. and they shoulden sell him to the man in the red sweater cuz he was livin a good life at the judge's house and now he is livin a bad life he is surronded by bad dogs and they can kill him so i feel bad if it was me i would not start any troble because i don't want to die in a early age

    1) Because it is told from Buck's point of view we feel like it is cruel and unfair to the dogs but, if it was told from the trainers point of view we might think it was fair because of their behavior.

    2) Buck's ability to learn quickly insures that he will survive in the Northland. In the Southland, at Judge Miller's farm he would be given treats for learning quick.

1)The way the story is told infuelence me on how I feel about Buck shows that he's a smart dog.It also seems as if he's a person and not a dog. If it was told by his trainer we wouldn't know where Buck grew up, how he grew up and how he feels.
2)The traits that soiws Buck will survive are that hes smart, strong and able to get his old wolf insticts back easly. All of these trait would not be probably accepted because Judge Miller is rick and good manner and wolves are the opposite of that because they would atack ast first thought they would also steal food which the jugde won't like.

1.i fell that in the begning of the story it feels like if Buck was a person. IT would cange if the dog trainer point of view it would talk about the gold he found and how he hit buck with the club.

  8. i think it would change because buck talk about what he's going through and his experince with the other dogs and if the francios and perrault they would talk more about there experinces
